Willian claims he wants to make Arsenal great again – and Mikel Arteta has backed him to do it.
Gunners boss Arteta reckons he has signed a winner and a difference-maker after finally confirming the 32-year-old free transfer as his first summer signing.
And Willian, who has penned a three-year contract worth over £150-000-a-week, insists it’s time to bring the glory days back.
The Brazil winger said:
“I decided to join because Arsenal is one of the biggest clubs in the world. They have a new project with Mikel Arteta.“I think this club deserves to shine again and I want to be a part of this project – to be a part of the Arsenal family is amazing. I’m very happy to do that.“I come to try to win trophies, because this club deserves to win again, and I think you have to do the best as possible to win every game.
Willian won five major trophies during a seven-year stint at Chelsea and managed nine goals and seven assists for the Blues this season.
