Manchester City defeated Sunderland 2-0 at the Stadium of Light on Sunday, in a routine performance for Pep Guardiola’s men.
Having been threatened early on by David Moyes’ hosts, with Jermain Defoe hitting the post with a long-range drive, City clicked into gear and goals from Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane earned them all three points.
City subsequently leapfrog Liverpool in the Premier League table and now sit third, one point behind Tottenham, who have played a game more.
